Nepal is without medal in taekwondo at the ongoing 19th Asian Games. In today's match in the 80 kg group, Nepal's Jacky Yadav lost 2-0 points to Jordan's player. With this defeat of Yadav, Nepal's hope of getting a medal in taekwondo has been shattered.
The total 11 Nepali athletes had participated in taekwondo. Earlier in the 49 kg group, Anjali Tamang was defeated, and in the 63 kg group, Gobinda Ale. Nepal has been unable to win medals in taekwondo since 2006. Before that time, Nepal won a silver and 13 bronzes in taekwondo at Asian Games.
Nepal starts with win in badminton
Under the 19th Asian Games, Nepal reached quarter-finals in badminton after defeating Mongolia 3-1 sets won in badminton. In the men's category, a pair of Prince Dahal and Sunil Joshi defeated the team of Mongolia.
Similarly, in the men double, a pair of Bishnu Katuwal and Prince Dahal won. However, in the women's double category, Nepal lost 3-1 sets to Maldives. A pair of Nepal's Rasila Maharjan and Anu Maya Rai lost the match.
