Musa Masala Intermediate Lead Climbing Competition concluded

Musa Masala Intermediate Lead Climbing Competition 2023 has been concluded in Kathmandu.

This event was organized by Wongchhu Peak Promotion Pvt. Ltd.It was sponsored by Musa Masala.

Co-sponsors of the events were include Nirvana, Crimpanzee Adventure Hub, Raeko Adventure Trading Group, Makalu e Traders, Hotel Yak & Yeti, Hotel Mulberry, The Soaltee Hotel, Nepali Ghar, Scarpa, Beal, Camp, LA Sportiva, Black Diamond & Himalayan Rescue Association ( HRA).

There were also individual sponsors of the program including Pem Dorjee Sherpa & Mrs. Moni Sherpa – First couple to get married on the top of Everest and Kami Sherpa, the First reporter (NTV) to go live from the top of Everest.

National Sports Council Nepal & Nepal Olympic Committee supported the event. Similarly, Technical Support was given by the Nepal Climbing Sports Association.

The main purpose of the competition was to foster a vibrant Nepali climbing community, to elevate the prominence of climbing as a recognized sport, and to empower Nepali climbers to excel on both national and international stages.

Age: Above 15 years old

Male winner:

1st Position: Pemba Tsewang

2nd Position: David Romano

3rd Position: Tashi Sherpa

The competition also recognized the 4th & 5th position winners:

4th Position: Suresh Tamang

5th Positon: Pasang Tenji Sherpa

Female Winner:

1st Position: Prena Rai

2nd Position: Sara Frenning

3rd Position: Angela Widler

4th Position: Tenzing Khando Tamang

5th Position: Fura Diki Sherpa

A cash prize of 25,000 rupees was awarded to the first-place winners in both the male and female events of the competition. Similarly, 1-year membership at Crimpanzee Adventure Hub was given.

A cash prize of 15,000 rupees was given to the players who came second in the competition.

Likewise, 6-month membership at Crimpanzee Adventure Hub was awarded. A cash prize of 10,000 rupees was given to the players who finished third in the competition. 3-month membership at Crimpanzee Adventure Hub was awarded. The winning players were given jackets, shoes, various equipment, and five-star hotel breakfast and lunch coupons as prizes.

Additionally, it was also announced that all the participants shall have free registration for next year’s climbing competition. Along with native participants, the competition also had the participants participating from countries such as the US, Japan & France.

Wongchuu Peak Promotion Pvt. Ltd also organized the Musa Masala Wall Climbing Competition for Beginners last year as on Oct 16th, 2022 which was also sponsored by Musa Masala.
