Nepal, which strengthened its chances of winning a medal in women's kabaddi at the end of the 19th Asian, lost to Iran in the second match of the group stage on Tuesday.
Nepal lost to Iran 43-19 in the match under group 'B'. Nepal defeated Bangladesh 37-24 in the first match of the group and made the chances of winning a medal almost certain. Nepal could not compete with former winners Iran.
After trailing 19-11 in the first half, Nepal lost 24-8 in the second half.
If Iran beats Bangladesh in the match on Wednesday, Nepal will reach the semi-finals. The team that enters the semi-finals will secure at least a bronze medal.
