The government has put forward the idea of ​​increasing cooperation with the private sector in the field of sports. Private sector participation and cooperation are expected to make a significant contribution to the development and expansion of sports in Nepal.

Secretary at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Dr. Damodar Regmi, said that the development of the country's sports sector is one of the main priorities of the Ministry of Sports. Talking to RSS, he said, "We have planned to bring a program to promote private sector cooperation in the development of sports in next year's budget."

Private sector banks and financial institutions are still contributing to the development and expansion of the sports sector by sponsoring players and sponsoring various sports competitions. The private sector is expected to contribute further to the country's sports sector through the construction of sports infrastructure and the production of players.

Secretary Dr. Regmi says, “Development of the sports sector is incomplete and incomplete only from the government sector. The private sector has remained a strong and powerful partner in every field. The sports sector has also been receiving support from the private sector through financial and other organizations. ”

Recently, futsal has been expanding in major cities of the country including the capital through the private sector. The expansion of futsal has also confirmed the increasing participation of the private sector in the sports sector. The participation of private sector in sports infrastructure and ground construction has also been increasing.

Sport as a reliable means of making human life healthy, disciplined and active contributes greatly to strengthening national unity and enhancing brotherhood. The government has taken a policy of making planned investment in sports and athletes to develop healthy, capable and disciplined citizens and to develop sports as a means of strengthening national unity and enhancing national prestige in the international arena.

For the development of sports in the country, competition is necessary mainly for the production of players, sports infrastructure and promotion of competitiveness. The government has approved the structure of the Ministry, Sports Council, Ministry of Social Development in the states and education, youth and sports branches at the local level as government mechanisms for the development of sports sector. These mechanisms have been operating according to the government policy, rules, annual program and annual budget.

Due to the diversity of geography and climate, the potential of sports is strong in any part of Nepal. As a large part of the country is mountainous and mountainous, there is a lot of potential for adventurous mountain sports in Nepal. Recently, there has been widespread talk that international competition should be held here to promote mountain sports. In this too, the participation of private sector can be increased. Secretary Regmi said that the ministry will hold discussions with the private sector for cooperation in the development of sports as the risk of Kovid-19 infection is spreading globally. Following the discussion, the ministry will form a task force to increase the involvement of the private sector in sports.

The Ministry has decided to address the possibility of addressing the issue within the current policy and rules immediately. The Ministry understands that the private sector can be a strong ally and partner in Nepal as the private sector has a great contribution in the development of sports in the neighboring countries.
