It has been a long time since Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal gave directions for installing floodlights in the cricket stadium at Kirtipur. But there is no certainty when the floodlights will be installed. After Prime Minister Dahal gave directions for installation of floodlights in Kirtipur stadium, 8 months ago, the National Sports Council called for tenders for the supply and installation of floodlights. But recently after the council rejected the tender, the flood light connection work has become uncertain.

Even though various important cricket matches are being held in Nepal, due to the lack of flood lights in Kirtipur Stadium, the games are conducted only in the day time.

A few years ago flood lights and score board were installed in Dashrath Stadium with the help of China.
