The Department of Archeology has prepared a draft for the process to enlist the Tilaurakot area of Kapilvastu on the World Heritage List.

After the excavation of the Tilaurakot area, which is important in view of history, culture, archeology and religion, the draft document with evidences obtained as the process to put it on the World Heritage List has been submitted to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), said Ram Bahadur Kunwar, the Department's spokesperson.

After studying the document draft submitted last week, the UNESCO will suggest to correct and send it back, he said.

Based on the UNESCO suggestion, the Department is preparing to submit the final document in four months.

Earlier, four cultural and natural heritages have been listed on the World Heritage List. The Kathmandu Valley and Lumbini are included in the World Heritage List as cultural heritages. The Valley's all three cities—Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur—have been put on the World Heritage List, said Kunwar.

Similarly, Sagarmatha Region and the Chitwan National Park have been listed on the World Heritage List as natural heritages.
