Madhes states increasing investment in tourism development

For the development of the tourism sector, the Madhes state government has taken a policy of increasing investment in infrastructure construction by identifying the natural and religious areas and promoting them.

According to the same policy, Thori of Parsa, known as the mini valley of Terai Madhes, has been declared a 'tourist area' by the Madhes state government. Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut has declared Thori a 'tourist area' at a program organized at Raidhara on Friday evening. Earlier, a meeting of the Council of Ministers of Madhes Pradesh held at Thori Jungle Resort at Thori-2 on Friday evening had decided to declare Thori a 'tourist area'. It is said that the government has decided to spend Rs. 100 million to build the necessary infrastructure for the development of the tourism sector.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Raut said that Thori is one of the important places of Madhes which has potential for tourism and added that Thori would be developed as a tourist destination. "We have declared Thori as a tourist area. We have also decided to provide Rs 100 million for the construction and development of tourism infrastructure here immediately," he said. "The government is also committed to providing additional assistance as required."

Similarly, the state government has announced to invest Rs. 50 million in the tourism sector and Minister for Industry, Tourism and Forests Shatrudhan Mahato declared Bhatha a religious tourist area and informed that Rs. 50 million would be invested in infrastructure development from the current fiscal year.

 In the program chaired by Alakhdev Prasad Tharu, Chairman of the Temple Management Committee, Chief Minister Gaddi expressed the commitment of the state government to provide roads and clean drinking water for the convenience of tourists and devotees coming to Bhatha area.
