Nepal Mountain Academy and the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) have signed an agreement for mutual understanding and cooperation in sustainable development and promotion of mountain tourism.

As per the agreement, both sides are bound to collaborate for human resources development, and operation of training and orientation.

Likewise, the Academy will not conduct basic and advanced mountaineering training being regularly organised by the Association.

Academy President Ungdi Tshring Sherpa and NMA President Nima Nuru Sherpa signed on the document today.

The Academy hoped the agreement would help further consolidating the both organizations, contributing to overall development of mountain tourism while NMA President said the Academy will work on the theoretical aspects of mountain tourism while NMA promotes it practically by avoiding the chances of duplication.

The NMA has, through the agreement, secured 20 percent quotas in its training for students of Academy education programme.

Similarly, the NMA is to ensure full scholarship to at least one student from Bachelor's and Master degree programmes being operated by the Academy in each academic session. The term of the agreement is of five years.
