Four Slovenians, three guides and five locals on a trek to Hilsa and Limi in the northern Namkha village of Humla have been stranded in Tumling in the Limi region due to heavy snowfall since Sunday.
Chief District Officer Ganesh Acharya informed that they were forced to stop at Tumling after heavy snowfall on Sunday night that prevented them from returning to Simkot.
Twelve people, including foreigners, are left stranded when the road to Nyalu Lake in Limi. The team was scheduled to reach Simkot on foot on October 8.
Pema Lama, representative of Richa Tour, Humla, said that the team had to stop there due to heavy snowfall in Nyalu Lake since Sunday.
Paljor Tamang, Ward Chairman of Namkha Village Municipality-6, said that there was a problem in the movement of local and foreign tourists after the road was closed. Chief District Officer Acharya informed that a letter has been sent to the Home Ministry to arrange a helicopter for their rescue.
However, the rescue operation could not be carried out on Wednesday due to bad weather.
