Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL) has said that there is a huge gap between the demand and supply of drinking water.

Out of 796 km distribution being constructed, construction of 427 km has already been completed.

Preparations go on for test supply in the remaining areas. The test was carried out in the new distribution system.

Of the 175 million litres water brought from Melamchi River at Ambathan of Helambu Rural Municipality in Sindhupalchowk district.

Minister for Water Supply, Umakant Chaudhary, has pledged to address the drinking water issue in the Kathmandu Valley in a permanent way.

Minister Chaudhari has directed KUKL to be ready for redistribution of Melamchi water in Kathmandu Valley.

Preparation is underway to make arrangements for additional 10 million liters of water in Kathmandu Valley daily.

The Melamchi Water Supply Development Board has decided to empty the tunnel from June 15 for inspection

Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL), the water supply authority in Kathmandu Valley, has begun distributing Melamchi water in Balaju area.

The long-awaited Melamchi drinking water project has been materialised. Dried taps in the Kathmandu Valley have seen water from the Melamchi river running, relieving Kathmanduities of hard life they had been enduring for want of drinking water.
