Nepali Congress candidate Govinda Bhattarai has registered his nomination for the by-election from electoral constituency no 1 of Tanahu. The by-poll to the member of House of Representatives (HoR) is taking place on April 23. He is the common candidate of the ruling alliance.
Nepali Congress Tanahu former president Raghunath Poudel proposed the candidacy while the party's General Assembly member and Gandaki province working committee member Sarita Gurung seconded it.
The Office of the Chief Election Officer said Sarbendra Khanal of CPN (UML), Shova Gurung of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Ram Prasad Prajapati of Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWPP), Prem Bahadur Thapa of Mongol National Organisation and Purna Bahadur Rana of Rastriya Janamukti Party have registered their candidacies before this.
