The CPN-UML provincial committee has directed its provincial assembly members in the present government to withdraw themselves from the cabinet. The direction was issued as per the decision of the UML central standing committee in Kathmandu to withdraw support to the government led by Chief Minister Trilochan Bhatta.

Committee Chair Karna Bahadur Thapa said that a letter was sent to leader of the parliamentary party Tara Lama Tamang to recall all the three ministers in the government and help form a government led by the party.

UML is represented in the government by Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Prakash Shah, Minister of Industry, Forest, Environment and Tourism Maya Bhatta and Social Development Minister Krishna Raj Subedi. However, they belong to the faction led by leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, who has been expelled from the party.

Meanwhile, the UML Parliamentary Party meeting today decided to not withdraw its support to the provincial government, going against the standing committee decision.

Provincial Committee Chair Thapa said action would be taken against those who go against the party's official decision
