Nepali Congress central member Sujata Koirala has said that the parties participating in the government should form an alliance and go to the polls.

Speaking at a press conference organized by Girija Prasad Koirala Foundation Morang here today, she said that there was a need to form an alliance between the ruling parties for the protection of democracy and political stability.

Koirala, who is also a former deputy prime minister, said that we should not be selfish as the parliament was dissolved twice due to the alliance and the Nepali Congress-led government was formed.

Talking about the need for an alliance for the party to return to power, Koirala said that the coalition government would lead to the institutional development of democracy, employment growth, and social transformation. In response to a question, she clarified that she had no role in defeating Dr. Shekhar Koirala at the party's 14th General Convention. Leader Koirala announced that he will be a direct candidate from Morang Constituency No. 2 in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
