The opposition parties have warned the government not to take any decisions that could have a long-term impact. A meeting of the leaders of the opposition parties held at Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha decided to issue the warning through a joint statement.

The meeting was participated by Deuba; Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda), Chairperson of CPN (Maoist Centre); senior leader of CPN-UML Madhav Kumar Nepal; Upendra Yadav, Chairperson of Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal; and Durga Poudel, Vice Chairperson of Rastriya Janamorcha.

The leaders of the opposition parties have stated that the government did not have the right to take any decisions that would have a long-term effect when claims are still being made to form an alternate government.
They have also mentioned that they believe the Supreme Court will uphold the principles of democracy when issuing its verdict on the writ petitions filed against the dissolution of the House of Representatives.
